What skills will my skater learn?
Skaters will learn how to stand up independently, move forward, move backwards, glide, stop and turn. These skills will be taught using progressions to break down complex skills. Each of the levels below has specific skills required before moving into the next level.
Level Progression
Rebel Start - Parent & Tot A fun and interactive class to get children under four years old on the ice having fun learning the basics of skating.
30 minute session
Rebel Start - This level is for 4-5 year old children with little to no prior experience on the ice.
30 minute session
Rebel 1 (4+ years old) Focus on forwards skills (jump, stop, turn, glide and skate)
30 minute session
Rebel 2 (4+ years old) Focus on backwards skills (jump, stop, turn, glide and skate)
30 minute session
Rebel 3 (4+ years old) Focus on one foot skills (jump, stop, glide and turn) and introduction to crosscuts.
30 minute session
Hockey Ready (Power Skating) - (5+ years old) Must have completed Rebel 2. Includes advanced skating skills used in hockey (power crosscuts, pivot turns, drop down, v start etc.)
Advanced Rebels (Intro to Figure Skating) - Must have completed Rebel 2. Includes introduction to basic jumps, spins, spirals and advanced turns.
Cost
Rebel Start - Rebel 3 $75 per skater for the 10 week session.
Hockey Ready - $100 per skater for the 10 week session. Note this session requires a minimum of 5 registrants to run.
Advanced Rebels (Intro to Figure Skating) - $100 per skater for the 10 week session. Note this session requires a minimum of 5 registrants to run.
