SPORT Program

Background Information

The SNCC offers a variety of sport programs community members can participate in throughout the year.  The programs are offered either by the community centre or in partnership with existing leagues, organizations and clubs.  The sport programs offered through the SNCC are tailored to children and teenagers. For adult and senior activities please visit the SNCC Fitness & Recreation section.

Registration

St. Norbert residents can register for any of the programs within the dates identified in the program summaries.  The majority of sport registrations can be done online through a link provided in the program summary below. Another option is registering in person at predetermined dates at the community centre by filling out the general registration form.

To download the form please click Registration Form fill it out completely and submitting it to the SNCC along with payment.

The SNCC will register all St. Norbert residents into their appropriate program of choice, if at the end of the registration period there is not enough participants to field a team for any sport, age category or gender division the SNCC will work with neighboring community centres to ensure every child has an opportunity to participate.

Registration is open to participants who live within the St Norbert catchment.  If you do not live in St Norbert catchment please register with your local community club.  If you would still like to play in our catchment, requests can be made when registering with your community centre.

Please note that online registrations are closed at the deadlines posted, no exceptions.

If a parent wishes to register after the deadline must do so in person with the form filled out and full payment made along with a $10 late registration fee.  Late registrations are confirmed by the sport convener upon review of team rosters for that sport, age group and gender division. There is no guarantee your child(ren) can make a team with late registration but the SNCC will do its best to find a roster spot.

Late registration payments will not be processed until confirmed by the convener, if it is not accepted parents can pick up the payment at the SNCC office.

Ringette

Ringette is a uniquely Canadian game that was created 50 years ago to resolve some of the issues related to providing girls with opportunities in sport. Due in part to its local roots, and its female focus, Ringette has grown into more than an internationally recognized competitive sport with opportunities for all ages. It has become a tremendous community of family and friends with a like-minded passion for a sport that is exciting, engaging and entertaining!

The SNCC would compete in the Southwest Winnipeg Ringette Association (SWRA).

The SNCC is compiling information about the upcoming season and will post it here when it becomes available.

Age Groups

Ringette offers the following age groups:

R4U | U10 | U12 | U14 | U16 | U19

*R4U ‘Ringette 4 U’ is for ages 3-8 years.

Registrations received after the deadline will be handled on a first come, first serve basis but does not guarantee a spot on a team.  The convener will check availability and inform the parents as quickly as possible.
